K Prep News: Monday, October 29, 2012

In the classroom:  This week we will finish up with Halloween activities and capital letter writing in our Handwriting Without Tears.  All parents are welcome to attend our Halloween Party on Wednesday. Please send a costume with your child for the party. A reminder that we do not allow any fake weapons at school and discourage any costumes that are violent in nature.

Monday: Arthur’s Halloween; Letter Z; Dot Flash Cards

Tuesday:  Franklin’s Halloween; Write about costume; Dot Flash Cards

Wednesday:  Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet; Write about favorite Halloween Candy; HALLOWEEN PARTY  10-10:50!!

Thursday:  There Was An Old Monster; Draw a monster; Dot Flash Cards

Friday: Hibernation Station;  “My Color Flip Book”; Dot Flash Cards

K Prep News: Monday, October 8, 2012

In the classroom:  Last week we finished up with some of our apple activities.  We also read some stories about pumpkins and fall.  Wednesday we participated in an all school FITNESS DAY!  We went for a walk on the trail and then returned to the gym for our first assembly.  This week we have a lot going on with Fire Prevention Week and Homecoming!!   We will read many books about firefighters and fire safety.  Please talk to your children about what to do if your house were to be on fire. 

Monday:  Dress Western!  K-12 Pep Assembly 9AM

Tuesday:  Dress up day!

Wednesday:  Dress Like a Farmer!

Thursday:  Wear Camoflauge!  Fire Department visits school today.

Friday: Wear BK clothes!  Parade this afternoon and Homecoming game tonight at 7:00!

FROM THE TEACHER:

We have been so busy in KPREP!!  I assessed letter knowledge last week.  Many of us know how to sing our ABC’s, but when we mix the letters up, it is harder for us to recognize letters.  If you want to help prepare your child for next year, working on letter names and numbers through ten would be a wonderful start. 

We continue to work on writing our name and many other important skills!  Thanks for your help at home.

K Prep News: Tuesday, September 3, 2012

In the classroom:  We have had a great start to KPREP!  This first week and a half of school, has been spent largely on getting to know eachother and learning the routines of the classroom.  This week we start a color unit. Please dress your child in the appropriate color each day. THANKS!!

Wednesday:   Wear GREEN!!  Story:  Go Away Big Green Monster

Thursday:  Wear YELLOW!!  Story:  What Makes a Rainbow?

Classroom News:November 3, 2010

Thank you to all of the moms who helped out with our Halloween Party!  The kids had a wonderful time and I was so impressed with the organization and creativity expressed by our room parents. THANKS!
Thanks also to those of you who came to conferences Tuesday afternoon. I am looking forward to meeting with the rest of you on Thursday evening!  It is an exciting time to share with you your child's strenths and areas that we are working on. We should celebrate these milestones, as they grow up all too fast.  Parent-Teacher communication is key to your son/daughter's succes in school.
